Learning self defense is super important if you’re a woman. Every 6 seconds a woman is attacked or assaulted by a man. Those are some high and scary stats. Women need to know how to defend themselves to survive any kind of assault or attack. In this video I interview Z, a purple belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu and a 2-time attack/assault survivor. She tells us how jiu jitsu has helped her overcome and cope with her unfortunate past. She also demonstrates how a woman can overcome an attacker with a couple of great choke holds and a painful arm-lock. Brazilian jiu-jitsu is a martial art that focuses in groundfighting. It’s perfect for men and women and relies on using leverage and body positioning, not strength, to overcome an attacker.
